If I cut up the bottom of my work boots willni get better traction?

I heard runway models do that. I livenin buffalo with a lot of snow and ice. I keep slipping. If I use a knife and cut the bottom of the boot will I get traction or just waste my time and risk ruining my boots?

Don’t cut up your boots! They have things that you can attach to your shoes or boots, sort of like chains for tires that look like they work great, I’ve been thinking about trying them. I think I saw them in Walmart’s shoe department. I found a couple of links, the first one is like what I was thinking of.

I think you grip better thanks to that material or well atleast they help traction. I dont think they reduce the traction no i think you are better off with them in place.
