Where can I buy good work boots?

My husband and I go down to Mexico once or twice a month to build houses. I noticed when he was working on the roof his vans didn’t have any traction and he was actually slipping a little- yeah, vans are good working shoes, and Mexico is NOT a great place to be if you are going to fall of a roof…

I want to get him some good work boots for Christmas, and I’m just wondering where is a good place to buy them, and how much I should be looking to spend. Thanks!

A good leather boot, with steel toes for protection from something falling on the foot and damaging a toe. There are many good brands on the market, find what fits his foot. I use Red Wing, but they are getting more expensive every year. The price could be $200+ for a top of the line boot. Traction on any surface involves the sole material and the surface you are standing on. Loose sand on a sloped roof is slippery.

i would shop with him…shoes are one of those things that need to be just right. I like a low cut hicking boot for most carpentry work, though many of the guys i work with wear steal toed boots, where as others where a sneaker (though a more rugged sneaker than a van lol)
